The translation report based on two English-Chinese medical articles,which discuss the advanced front of fatty liver from Mamm Geneome and National Institute of Health published in SCI source journals,is assigned by Biocytocare Biotechnology Co.,Ltd on March 1st,2017.The purpose of this report is to arouse people's attention to protecting the liver in the daily life,letting more people know about the causes and progression of the non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.Additionally,the report attaches great importance to the symptoms and advanced front on the non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.In the light of text typology put forward German translator Reiss,medical text belongs to the informative text,which focuses on the science and technology and reflects objective facts and stresses transinformation and exactness of information.Thus,under the guidance of Reiss' text typology,much attention is paid to analyze stylistic features of the medical text,mainly take the free translation and literal translation techniques,and combine with addition,omission and other translation techniques in order to make sure that the translated texts should be in line with the original text smoothly.This report,principally,is made up of five parts.The introduction to translation task and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is arranged in the chapter one.Chapter two is task description,which includes source of the task,requirement put forward by the entrusting party as well as linguistic features of two medical papers from the perspective of lexical level,syntactic level and discourse level.Chapter three is translation process,mainly,including before translation,while translation and after translation,the entire process of the translation.Before translation mainly includes collecting background information,choosing translation tools and resources,making the timetable,analyzing parallel texts,and selecting translation theory as well as methods.While translation is composed of glossary terms,quality control and details in the course of the translation.In the process of quality control,the target text has been checked twice by the author and once by experts.After translation consists of feedback and self-evaluation.Chapter four is case analysis combining the features of medical texts and examples,which is relevant to the difficult words,tables,passive voice and complex sentences faced in the translation and respective solution to the problems by use of literal and free translation methods as well as division,addition and omission techniques.Chapter five briefly sums up the report,which the reflection and limitations are gained and the author has a good command of medical translation after this studying,hoping that some references and suggestions can be advantageous to other people.
