Written discourse is the site where writer and reader interact with each other. Study of interaction covers many kinds of written discourses. However, few systematic studies have reached fairy tales from linguistic perspective, let alone reached interaction between writer and reader in the fairy tale discourse. This thesis focuses on the study of interaction in traditional and modern versions of classical fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood. The study carries on at vocabulary level, sentence level as well as discourse level with theoretical analysis and quantitative analysis. The aim is to find out how interaction is achieved in fairy tales between writer and reader. Moreover, this thesis analyzes the practical implications of fairy tales and interaction between writer and reader in them for improving learners' reading comprehension and writing ability.
