Double-shoulder Stonewares, i.e. the stoneware that have two shoulders, have a wide allocation in china, especially in the Southwestern part in term of quantity. On the basis of former studies, this thesis has done some initial research and investigation on the Double-shoulder Stonewares in the Southwestern part of China which can be applied in archeological typology. This project hold the idea that the Double-shoulder Stonewares in this area can be categorized into two groups: chipped Double-shoulder Stonewares and polished Double-shoulder Stonewares. The former represents the features and characteristics of stonewares in Southwest China. This type of Double-shoulder Stonewares may originate from this part while the polished Double-shoulder Stonewares are closed to the stonewares in the period stretching from the end of Neolithic Age to the Bronze Age in the coastal area of Southwest China.On the basis of initial research of classification, this thesis also explores the use, patriarchal belonging of Double-shoulder Stonewares and their relationship with the Bronze wares about the shape as well as the relationship with the stonewares excavated in Southeast Asian countries.
