Research On The Reforms Of College English Teaching In China

College English is an important course in Chinese Universities and colleges. By learning it, college students acquire English knowledge and skills. In recent years, a lot has been achieved in College English teaching, such as the improvement of the English teachers'ability and the students'English level. But it should also be emphasized that many problems exist in College English Teaching. For example, graduates from universities and colleges are not good enough in English using and cannot meet the need of society. The progress in science and technology requires much skillful English utilization, so College English Teaching must be improved to meet the demands.This article first illustrates the necessity and feasibility of the reforms of College English Teaching, then analyzes the possible factors that influence English learning result. It tries to find the ideal way of College English Teaching and aims at solving the problems in College English Teaching. If reasonable reform in College English Teaching is to be implemented, the efficiency of English teaching and learning must be greatly improved, and talented graduates who possess every skill in English can be cultivated.
