Research On Conversation Structure Under Technological Conditions

Conversation analysis emphasizes research on language used in natural environments. Therefore, the analysis of conversation structure concentrates on daily conversations. Conversation concerning technology is also a conversation in natural state. Technology promotes variation of psychological pre-design of whole conversation structure, resulting in systematic variation of the whole conversation structure and conversation technology became a medium to leap over. Conversation in network chat rooms is a new conversation mode under novel technological conditions. Compared with conversation under other technological conditions, it has its own advantages and values. It attracts thousands upon thousands of users who can talk simultaneously due to its easy operation. Network chat has become an important additional form of daily conversation. With popularization and development of network technology, the network chat will become an important means of interpersonal communication.Based on the above, taking the conversation in Chinese network chat rooms as a sample, excluding audio or video conversation, taking the daily conversation without technology as reference. We try to annotate conversation structure in the chat room situation from static and dynamic analyze, to research how technology application impacts the conversation structure compared with those without technology mediated.Part â… , Introduction. In this section, we will define the scope of study, analyze the significance and value, review the previous study relevant to my study and introduce my research method.Part â…¡, Theoretical Framework. Based on the review of the social shaping of technology, technological determinism, register theory, speech community theory and discourse analysis theory , we establish a three-level model: philosophical, linguistic and discursive. As for philosophical aspect, we research effect of technology on the conversation structure; as for linguistic aspect, we research the conversation structure of speech community in special register under technological conditions; as for discourse aspect, we research the conversation structure of the chat room.In Part â…¢, based on register theory of Halliday and three object variables, field of discourse, tenor of discourse and mode of discourse.
