the 17th and 18th centuries are very important periods in the orient and west cultural interaction history. According to the statistics, the number of Portuguese missionaries had been leading far away contrasted to the other nations which sent the missionaries at these periods. They rise the very important bridge function in the aspects of promoting the mid-termwest cultural interaction at that time, particularly those Missionaries who serviced directly in the Manchu Court. However, the Academic circles used to emphasize on the influence in the Manchu Court about the French missionaries which fight Power of Protecting the Catholic with the Portuguese at the same time, and few special discusses concerned this topic. According to the shortage of above- mentioned academic research, this text draws up to make full use of various cultural heritages and files, investigates their function which can't be acted for in the orient-west cultural interaction history from 17th to 18th centuries, and do some work for the further deep research about the early mid-termwest cultural interaction history.The whole article is divided into nine parts :l),the introduction; 2), the Portuguese and French missionaries getting into China from 17th to 18th centuries, 3)the problem about " Power of Protecting the Catholic" belonged to the Portugal; 4)establishment and its positions of the East Hall;5), the preach activities of the Portuguese missionaries in the Manchu Court;6), the intervention of Portuguese missionaries to the Manchu Court politics;7), the science and technology, cultural activities of the Portuguese missionaries in the Manchu Court;8), the Sinology works of the Portuguese missionaries in the Manchu Court;9), Conclusion, offering the main ideas of the articles.
