Zhang Zhihan(1243? -1296), also named ZhouQing or XiYan, was borned in HanDan, HeBei province. 《Song Jiang Fu Zhi》 praised him that his achievement in writing and post are both very great, and also has the style of probity of ancient politicians. 《Si Ku Quan Shu》 includes his 《Xi Yan Ji》 in 20 volumes, in which 65 Ci poems in 2 volumes, then 《The complete of Collection of Jin and Yuan Ci Poems》 added to 70 Ci poems. Zhang Ye, also named Ye Fu and Gu Shan, was the son of Zhang Zhihan, he wrote 《Gu Shan Yue Fu》 in 2 volumes, including 64 Ci poems. They may fairly be called the unique "father-son" writers in Yuan dynasty according to the quantity and quality of their Ci poems. They learned from Su Shi and Xin Qiji, and presented obvious style of Northern school Ci, at the same time, their Ci poems were also influenced by Southern school Ci, and presented the capable of mixture style of southern and northern Ci poems. Because they always worked out of home and were influenced by the thoughts of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism, their Ci poems showed obvious sentimental feeling of parting and the wish to live a free life, which had representativeness during politicians in early middle of Yuan dynasty. In addition, because they had the different experience, their Ci styles and achievement in Ci poems were accordingly different. In a word, one is open and sensible, the other is sad and strong. That is, Xi Yan Ci is even and peaceful, so it also undistinguished; Gu Shan Yu Fu is sad and strong as JiaXuan Ci poems, so Zhang Ye is one of the top Ci writers among those who learned from Xin Qiji in Yuan dynasty. The enclosed included two parts which provided the basic documents for writing above paper.
