On Mao Tse-Tung's Opera Concept

The Chinese traditional opera is Mao Tse-tung's favorite art and there are many fun stories about Mao Tse-tung and opera which we Chinese people talk about even now. As a literate who loves Chinese culture, Mao Tse-tung appreciates Chinese traditional opera which is watched as the symbol of Chinese traditional culture. From watching the opera, Mao Tse-tung can learn Chinese history, culture and art. And as the leader of the People's Republic of China, Mao Tse-tung knows that the traditional opera has other more functions. For example, it has not only art and aesthetics impact but can educate the people. And the more important is that traditional opera can be the arm which beat down the old world and build a new country.In the chapter 1, I show literate Mao Tse-tung's opera concept and try to find the meaning of"Mao Tse-tung and Chinese traditional opera"on the basis of analyzing Mao Tse-tung's cultural character. And the other part of this thesis, I study Mao Tse-tung's opera concept from historical, political,cultural and art point of view from he take part in the revolution to his death. And from the study, we may find that how much Tse-tung's opera concept compact the Chinese traditional opera.
