Lingshou is located in the transitional zone of the Jin dialect and the Guanhua in Hebei province. The dissertation took Lingshou dialect as the research object, and described the phonetic system in detail. The study compared the phonetic system of Lingshou dialect with that of mid-ancient Chinese, and those of the dialects in Pingshan and Zhengding which are close to Lingshou. The study summarized the characteristics of Jin dialect in Lingshou dialect, for example, the Even tone is not divided into twe Yinping tone and Yangping tone and there is still entering tone in Lingshou dialect and so on. In addition, the study also pointed out that in the special geographical environment, some of the characteristics of Jin dialect has disapeared in Lingshou dialect. On the other hand, we could discover some of the characteristics of Guanhua in Lingshou dialect. There is only an independent value of entering tone and without pre-glottal finals. There are few literal and colloquid readings and quite a lot of Er-hua finals which are the same as those of Guanhua dialect. The study gathered words beginning with Ke, the sound-compound words and the sound-divided words, which belong to Jin dialect vocabulary. The materials in this paper, which are totally acquired through field research, are useful to the study of Jin dialect out of Shanxi province. After the comparisions of the dialects of Lingshou, Pingshan and Zhengding, the study infered that, we inferred that, Zhengding dialect should have belonged to Jin dialect some years ago, even if it belongs to Jilu Guanhua today.
