| Dengsu was a distiguishied political critic in history, as a descendant of General Dengguangbu in Tang Dynasty. During his childhood, he was not only clever and sensible in writing and talking, but also good at behaving himself with good manners. As a civil official in Song Dynasty, he was honest and flank, and concerned about ordinary people. Because of his sarcastic poem about freight of special flowers and stones during Emperor Huizong' s Time, he was driven out of the Imperial College, which caused a sensation all over the country. Till in 1126, the year ofJingkang yuan, Emperor Qin zong ascending the throne, along with recommendation in a great effort by Li gang-prime minister (in feudal China), he was visited and ennobled Imperial Scholars by the emperor, he was appointed as Chengwu Lang-an official in charge of inner affair, and awarded as the highest secretary in imperial Temple-Hong lu si. With the invasion of Jin Army, he took a mission in life to come into Jin camp under detention for 15 days, he embodied his toughness and unyielding, at the same time, he mananged learned about ture conditions of Jin Army, which drew a conclusion that Jin Army is less fear, he advocated to fight against Jin Army, and then he was promoted as high official called Zuo zheng yan . As a political critic official for three months, he has reported to the throne for twenty times not only to disclose ills of the times with fearlessness, but also to present his proper policies to rescue his mother land. His flankness and honesty won the reputation of the whole country. In August of 1227 (the year of Song jian yan yuan), sinceLigang sticked to his view to fight against Jin Army, he was made a false charge against by some snobbish officials and dismissed from office. He never minded his gain and loss, he urged to be against Ligang's being dismissed and argue (or plead) his case, and he praised that Li gang would die for his country, which led to the emperor's anger and his demotion as district magistrate. After dismissed from office, he returned his home town—Shaxian County, where he witnessed current affairs of the whole country at that time to cherish his own concern and love to his mother land.Dengsu completed his collected works called?Binglu ?with 25 volumes together, which some of poems are regarded as master pieces. Because his reputation in integrity was more outstanding than his poems, which the remains of'his collected works are hard to obtain, people seldom learn something about him, and thus the author, based on large quantities of original information about him, makes a complete research about Dengsu as follows. 1. demonstrating his birthday, native place and reputation.2. illustrating that his family tree made a great effect on him and all his life.3 .dealing with his personal communicationAargumenting his major recordation of ? Binglu ? on historical documents and development of cutting blocks.5.dealing with his remarks on such as poems, words,articles and penmanship. In short, the author aims to have a complete cognition of the ancient scholar.In summary, in spite of Dengsu's shortlived life, his patriotic spirit and his integrity of ethnic group have left a good name forever. So far his collectedworks called《Binglu》 has historical value as well as literature value, therefore, it is worth our making a further research. |
