Liang Yuchun, renowned as " a genius ", established his reputation in the modern essay history for his essays characterized by striking characteristics, knowledgeable wit, unusual perspective and poetic tone .The thesis tries to study liang Yuchun' essays from another perspective , that is, the one of stylistics .After careful arrangement and reading the thesis probes into the version, analyzes Liang's writing cultural sources, genre choice and aesthetic features. And it also appreciates a gifted writer's individual disposition, state of mind, orientation of value and pursuit of goal, and it resultingly clarifies liang Yuchun' contribution in laying a foundation for the development of essay , a modern style of writing .Liang Yuchun' essays are influenced by foreign culture as well as Chinese traditional one; they draw on "foreign example" but also stress " Chinese taste"; they acceptthe specific quintessence of western essays and passon the local inside story of Chinese traditional poems. Both "foreign aid" and "local assistance" produce and nourish Liang's essays. What Liang's essays cover is about life, society, art and literature, education, love, friendship, marriage and so on. The writing genres of Liang' essays come from what he came to realize toward vicissitudes of life, from what insight he had into the diverse ways of the world, and how he recounted one's emotion. Liang's essays display the following six aesthetic feafures: unique perspective, way of irony, style of essay, witty and sentimental reasoning , tragic humor and imaginative writing .
