The envoys, seen as the bridges, as well as the body of exchanging cultures of different countries, contributed greatly to the diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam in Qing Dynasty. By studying the elections of envoys in both countries and their commissions, the thesis explains the important role the envoys played in relations of China and Vietnam in Qing Dynasty.The thesis consists of five parts altogether:The first part, the introduction of the thesis , introduces the research on the historical relations between China and Vietnam in recent years and the achievements, and the reasons that I choose this project to carry on this research.Part two analyzes Zongfan relationships between Qing Dynasty and Vietnam and how it was established.Part three expounds the commissions of the diplomatic envoys and studies the election of envoys of both Qing Dynasty and Vietnam.Part four focuses on the great effect and functions that the envoys brought to the two countries on politics, economy and cultures.As a conclusion, the fifth part briefly concludes the election of envoys and their missions, further confirms their great impact and functions on the two countries. This is vital for us to study the relations between China and Vietnam on the whole.
