Among the works in modern literatures, Bajin's family-novels are unique being the most appreciated of the same kind so far. The study on Bajin's works has achieved fruitful achievements within tens of years of development. Many experts and professors from home and abroad has achieved highly in this respect. Special research institutes publish issues concerning it regularly, and each "international academic conference on Bajin" has received many high quality essays which relate nearly all his works.Seen from those published works and key essays, the focus is usually put on Bajin's family novels by the author. The recent published textbooks history of Chinese modern literature list the content of Bajin's thinking of his family novels and its art feature as special chapters. With the development of comparative literature in china some experts locate their study focus on traditional culture's influence on Bajin's writings as well as imitation of foreign writers to some degree. Most essays nowadays only compare the profoundness of the theme of anti-feudalism and the tutor-apprentice relation within a few family novels; or give detailed description on some foreign writers' effect on him. From the mentioned above, so far, there have been no essays which comprehensively expound the creative styles and features of Bajin's family novels influenced by both Chinese traditional cultures and foreign literatures. This is just the significance for which I choose this topic.There are three parts in this essay: the first part is about the nurture on bajin from regional culture, family culture, family life and ancient literatures. Bajin was exposed to the bashu culture, which has a long history, and read a great deal. And he was brought up with profound culture integrity. With the influence of precedents, Bajin liked to enjoy operas all his life and thus all this can be reflected in his later works. The second part lists some great writers' from France, Russia ,England, Germany and Japan, influence on his family novel writings. The third part expounds his styles and features: serialization of characters, which is reflected in his description of typical character in typical environment, esp. in describing young married women; the vivid components of autobiography with impressive features of that era as well as verdant national features; the choice of suitable structures in accordance with plots; appropriate techniques; the subtle combined utilization of different expressions as well as simple language style combined with passion.This essay mainly employs the influential research method in the comparative literature research theory combined with Chinese ancient philosophy of enlightened by the theory of foreign aesthetic acceptation, model feudal novel psychological analysis, etc.Family is the miniature of society.
