The Original Research On Wenzhou Community Before Singapore Independence

Wenzhou city in Zhejiang province is a well-known qiao xiang(Overseas Chinese hometown). There have be nearly half a hundred thousand emigrants that living in over eighty-seven countries and areas. One third Wenzhou emigrants live in European, more of them migrates Italy and France. Since the reform and opening up, more and more Wenzhou people go abroad. The dissertation discusses Wenzhou People in Singapore before its independence including their career social activities Chinese education etc. The author hopes to make a bit contribution to the studies of overseas Chinese of Wenzhou people in Singapore. This paper tries to enrich the history studies of overseas Chinese.
