This is a study of the literary supplements of Hong Kong's Ming Pao to learn their literariness and how they play their role in Hong Kong literature. It defines the literary supplements as belletristic columns and features being able to have communication with readers in thoughts and ideas and able to promote culture and public opinions. The study employs a literature survey in searching information, compares and analysizes the quantity, ratio and the contents of Ming Pao's literary columns, and supplements the survey with an interview with a senior editor of Ming Pao.Findings of the study reveal that the literature of Ming Pao's supplements is rich, heeling the pulse of the society, reflecting the current social culture and social issues, and more important, providing a platform for columnists to write, to exchange, to advance and to foster successors. It is no doubt that Ming Pao's supplements do have significant contributions to Hong Kong literature.
