The Rorschach test has long been used to assess aggression oversea. Early researches mainly focused on how to develop scores on aggression content. Contemporary researches pay close attention to aggression variables developed by Exner, Meloy&Gacono. The Rorschach aggression variables MOR and AgPast were found to be related with depression, suicide, and borderline pathology. They may indicate identification with impaired object relations.Blatt assumed all kinds of depression resulted from bad development of object representation. He posed two independent trajectories of depression, and developed the Depressive Experiences Questionnaire (DEQ) to measure anaclitic depression and introjective depression. Self-Criticism has relation with depression. Self-critical individuals show greater intent to die and greater lethality in their suicide attempts than did dependents. The DEQ was revised and then used to the healthy, depressive disorders and other patients together with the Rorschach test, Self-Rating Depression Scale, and Suicide Ideation and Behavior Questionnaire. Results show that: 1) All three aggression variables have good reliability; 2) depressive disorders have significantly higher MOR and AgPast scores than others; 3) MOR and AgPast are related to DEQ Self-Criticism scale; 4) those used to commit suicide have significantly higher MOR and AgPast scores than others.
