Shanghai Report -Free Talk is one of the important supplements in China's newspaper history. It plays a great effect on the development of literature and connects literature with common people to bring it into their daily life. From December 1st, 1932 to May 9th, 1934, Shanghai Report -Free Talk during the period of Li Liewen especially exerted tremendous influences in literary history. During the early 1930s, "left wing thought" was faced with execrable environment. It had to break through the suppressing of Jiang Jieshi's government and also needed a window to contact the common people. Shanghai Report -Free Talk which was reformed during 1932 exactly exerted this kind of influences.Choosing the three prominent phenomena on Free Talk -criticism on "revolution of Chi", "admonition on national calamity", and "criticism on the current of returning to the ancients", this essay tries to explore how the "left wing thought" turns Free Talk into their battlefront from the positive and negative aspects.Through investigation, it is found that the consequence of construct is a process of struggle between three kinds of strengths, the first one is the perception constructed by Shanghai local culture and history, the second one is the perception formed by government's admonition to the local civilian, the third one is perception penetrated by "left wing thought" on Local civilian. The last one weakens the other two's effects on Free Talk's readers by criticizing on some specific phenomenon. As a result, it turns the comprehensive Free Talk into the battlefront of "left wing thought" and also reconstructs civilian's perception for country and society. This essay intends to explore the process to demonstrate the scenery of Shanghai literary circle during the Early 1930s, and also to exhibit the cultural situation in Shanghai during the early 1930s.
