From 1971,the Presbyterian church in Taiwan has published 3 political manifesto:"Statement on Our National Fate","Our Appeal"and"A Declaration on Human Rights", these produced great echo in the island and overseas. This thesis analyses the complexion of political participation of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan, and historically analyses how it gets the political power, and the historical analysis of the P.C.T lay emphasis on its medical treatment and educational enterprise.PrologueThis chapter puts forward the meaning of studying the influence power of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan and historically analyzes it, and reviews the achievement of the studying on Taiwan Christianity between two coasts. Because this thesis involves Taiwan educational history and its medical history, so this chapter reviews the achievement of the studying on Taiwan educational history and its medical history, too. And this chapter talks about the studying method a little, too.Chapter one: the political participation of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan in the contemporary eraFrom 20th 70s, the P.C.T (the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan) actively participated in politics, and published 3 political statements, these shocked the island greatly. Besides those above, the P.C.T actively connectde the groups of the"out-party"and"Taiwan-independence"in the inner and out island, and it actively promoted the political reformation and"Taiwan-independence", too. For illuminating the speciality of the political influence of the P.C.T, this chapter analyses the transformation of the percentage, that the Christian to the population of the whole island.Chapter two: education, medicine and the P.C.T was founded in Taiwan——in Qing dynastyBasing on the unjust treaties, the P.C.T was able to get into Taiwan and spreaded the Christianity. For the severe conflict between China and west, firstly, the Presbytery was not accepted by the masses of Taiwan, the Christian cases emerged in endless.
