Due to some historical reasons in curriculum development, there exist some contraries between the curriculum structures and the student really reads in the language syllabus of our higher medical education. The contradiction is very pronounced especially in fiction appreciation unit. This kind of contradiction not only affects students' interest in learning, it also leads to the inefficiency in teaching. In the long run, it causes a lot of negative effects in building the correct views of students in areas such as emotion, attitude and values.In this paper, the author provides detailed reviews and analysis of the contradiction mentioned above. By introducing the concepts of chaos reading, the author tries to find the ways and methods to resolve this contrary in his daily teaching practice. The methodology behind this research work is to parallel the research and teaching. The best research outcome comes from the process and the reflection in the daily teaching practice.In conclusion, chaos reading is one of the building blocks in achieving the desire outcome in the literature study. The aim in literature study is to help the students build up their sense of aesthetic. The method to achieve this is to use precise and focus approach. To achieve the ultimate goal in language education, there must be some revolutions in the syllabus and we need to have a better series of textbook for the language study in higher medical education. At the same time, we should recognize the important of diversify, selectivity and fairness in education.
