Looking back the history of Chinese literature, it can be found that position of litterateurs and their works alter from time to time. However there are some lucky litterateurs who have been embracing good reputation for all the time. Ruan Ji is one of them, who created Yonghuai poetry anthology that comprises of 82 chapters. The Yonghuai poetry has been remaining popular among people in despite of the change of dynasty. The study of Yonghuai poetry started from Yan Yanzhi who lived near the epoch of Ruan Ji and has been carried out all along. But unfortunately, the previous studies have been emphasized on the detailed point instead of the historical line.Based on the consideration mentioned above, this paper aims to outline the acceptance trace on Yonghuai poetry and analyze reasons for its acceptance by presenting those acceptance activities during Liu Dynasty. Some theories of western acceptive esthetics and Chinese esthetics are employed in this paper. Besides, the author presented her understandings from different angles, such as sociology, history, esthetics and so on. In this way, a clear drawing of position and significance of Yonghuai poetry in the Chinese literature history was presented.This paper includes four aspects. Aspect one focuses on the explanations of Yan Yanzhi and Shen Yue about Yonghuai poetry. Both Yan Yanzhi and Shen Yue commended the personality of Ruan Ji. Aspect 2 discusses the acceptance activities of Zhong Rong, Liu Xie and Xiao Tong. Ruan Ji was columned as the first-class poet in the Poem Critic wrote by Zhong Rong. Liu Xie paid both attention to Yonghuai poetry and the author in his works of Wen Xin Diao Llong. Yonghuai poetry also entered into literature analects compiled by Xiao Tong. Aspect 3 introduces some poets who created works by imitating the Yonghuai poetry, including Zuo Si, Tao Yuanming and Jiang Yan. The last aspect puts the emphases on the acceptive activities of the North Dynasty. Li Biao and Yu Xin were mentioned in this aspect.
