Along with the development of economic integration of the world, the international trade is going to frequent and the economic communication is gradually deepening. How to create, maintain and improve a well mutual economic environment in the world, gradually became a focus concentrated by every country in the globe, especially the developed ones. In order to promote equal transaction and decrease the immoderate breakage of the entironment, the International Organization for Standardization established ISO9000 series of quality management and ISO 14000 series of environmental management standards on the foundation of the experience coming from developed western countries, and extended them in the whole world. It's in 1989 and 1997 that the QMS and EMS was introduced into China respectively, by identical adoption, i.e. translation and transformation in accordance with the national norm related. At present, the standards had been used in various industries. It has already become a routine measure for eliminating technical barriers and green barriers in domestic and national trade by certification/registration. The author found that different readers have different comprehension to the standards in practice, and sometimes there might be prodigious bifurcation. And the basic reason in some certain extent falls into the key process in transformation of the standards, translation. After the comparison between source and target texts and analisys, I found the main problems are as follows:Some clauses enlarged or shrinked the requirements of the original internationalstandards; Some ones strenthened or weakened the requirements of them; There're some distortion, deviation in translation;Inappropriate expression in Chinese. Therefore the intention of this study is searching for the phenomena of the misunderstanding and mistranslation of the international standards in the national standards, and concluding the translation principle and methods:The facsimile of connotation is prior to replication of form;Appropriate domestication and dissimilation;Flexible strategy and application of techniques is necessary;Consideration to relative standards. There're six chapters: chapter one introduced the origin of writing, theoretical gist and research methodology simply; chapter two discussed the theoretical foundation and the application in writing; chapter three concerned the research methodology and the application in the paper; chapter four analyzed the historical evolvement of the two series of international standards; chapter five is the kernel section that opened out various phenomena and their reasons in translation from international standards to national standards; chapter six is onclusion summarized the research result and lead to the principle and methods for translation of international standards.
