Yuanhe junxian tuzhi, which was written by Li Jifu in Tang Dynasty, is the earliest magnumopus of Chinese geography records of the whole country nowadays. Its style is complete and its quotation is full and accurate. The records dated from ancient times to Yuanhe years in Tang dynasty. So Siku quanshu said that the book perhaps was the earliest one in ancient Chinese geography texts which existed in current times. The book had 40 volumes initially, at latest in South Song Dynasty, the maps and column were all missing, so it only has 34 volumes we can see today.For its outstanding place of Chinese geography records the book was examined, corrected, compiled and patched. These works accorded with the demands of the influence of academy atmosphere in Qing Dynasty. Mr. Tan Qixiang said the geography science in Qing Dynasty achieved in some important fields, such as developing traditional Chinese geography science and sorting out hundreds of famous works in geography, etc.The woks are various from lengths to materials, therefore, on the basis of some compilation and patch works, this thesis compares the authors' methods and forms, sorts out their material, then poses some problems containing the geography debates of administrative area and population. In all, the study of compilation and patch of Yuanhe junxian tuzhi in Qing Dynasty is of great values to us in both documents and historical geography. We even can have a restricted view of academy atmosphere in Qing Dynasty.
