This paper makes a tentative study of the historical social geography theory and method study of the group of scholars from Bashu in the tang and song dynasty.Historical social geography is a new frontier in the current study of the social geography,the research focuses on distribution and changes of peoples in different regions during the historical periods.This thesis regard the group of scholars from Bashu in the tang and song dynasty as the specific research object.It devides into 5parts.They're introduction and the main body,which include 5 parts.In the introduction,it generally describes the reason of the topic selection,the research trending,main problems,research methods,and the definition of associated with this article.In the first chapter of the text,this paper mainly discusses the state of existence of the group of scholars from Bashu during the Tang and Song dynasty,due to the special geographical environment and the social background of the Bashu area.The state of its special policy,making the group of scholars from Bashu living in a relatively unique political-ecology situation.Imperial officials and literati's discrimination against the the group of scholars from Bashu regional bias,leading to them together to resist the central government,not with the government into one.The second chapter mainly discusses the temporal and spatial distribution characteristics of the Jinshi group in the Bashu area during the Tang and Song dynasties.From?the?perspective?of?time,the number of the Jinshi which pass the imperial examination is less in the Tang Dynasty,and the number of the jinshi was greatly increased in the Song Dynasty.From the perspective of space distribution,the biggest feature is the largest number of Jinshi in Meizhou in the Song Dynasty,which the total number of Jinshi is more than Chengdu office,and it takes the appear so-called Meizhou Phenomenon in the sichuan history.There are several reasons lead to the Meizhou Phenomenon.Firstly,there is arelatively stable and peaceful social environment in the Bashu area.Secondly,the changes of people's concept of into the official.Thirdly,local scholars advocate and put the importance on knowledge.Fourthly,national policy's changes.Lastly,lots of immigrants come to Bashu leads to the cultural exchanges and integration.In the third chapter,I mainly sort out the famous Shu families in the Bashu area of the Song Dynasty,although it is not comprehensive,it can help us to understand the basic situation of the Shu families in the Song Dynasty.From which we can see that these families have two main sources,one is local indigenous,the other is immigrants.From the distribution point of view,the Shu families mainly concentrated in the Chengdu Plain as the center of the western Sichuan region,and mainly concentrated in the Meizhou area.The Shu families had an important influence on the cultural development of Shu,which,to a certain extent,reshaped the culture of Shu to make new features and meteorology.The fourth chapter is mainly about the sublimation of theory,some studies on the regional population in the view of geography.This paper discusses the academic significance,historical geography significance and research path of regional population research,so as to provide empirical exploration for historical social geography through the study of the Shu people.
