It is generally acknowledged by the epistemic community that the teaching of vocabulary plays an important role in Teaching Chinese as a second language. The Chinese teaching for foreign students in TCM~â‘  colleges and universities is combined with TCM theories which involve a lot of TCM terms by which most TCM theories and concepts are expressed. This is the most outstanding feature compared with the situation in common colleges and universities. In contrast to the demand of popularization of Chinese in the world, the epistemic community is lacking research on TCM Chinese. Therefore, the task of the paper is to focus on the teaching of TCM Chinese lexicon which includes TCM terms and common vocabularies. Three aspects will be discussed, i.e. the choice of lexicon, the arrangement of lexicon and the teaching of lexicon. Thus, we may know more about the teaching of TCM Chinese lexicon and get some experience for further research. There are 7 parts in the paper:Introduction: A brief review of the current situation of research on vocabulary teaching of TCFL will be given. We think that the research is in the preliminary stage and is not suitable for the demand of popularization of Chinese in the world.Chapter 1: First we will locate TCM Chinese in the system of preparatory instruction. It is the Chinese teaching for foreign students who will go to TCM colleges and universities as TCM major students. Then we will analyze the feature of the teaching of TCM Chinese by using theory of teaching design.Chapter 2: On the basis of current vocabulary selecting standards of TCSL we give a vocabulary selecting standards for TCM Chinese lexicon, and a statistic and an analysis of the typical textbook TCM Chinese will act as a supplement.Chapter 3: The arrangement of TCM Chinese lexicon will be discussed and the principles of systematical meaning, step by step and word recurrence will be discussed.Chapter 4: Combined with the theory of cognitive psychology in the teaching of vocabulary, the teaching of TCM Chinese lexicon in different lesson styles will be discussed with some examples and teaching methods.Chapter 5: According to ESP, we represent the theory of CSP to study the teaching of TCM Chinese lexicons. The dialectic relationship between CSP and common TCFL will be discussed that we should pay more attention to the effect on the popularization of Chinese in the world brought by the research on CSP (including TCM Chinese).Chapter 6: The conclusion part. The main conclusion of the paper will be given together with the weak points and the prospect of further study on CSP and lexical teaching of TCM Chinese.
