The Study Of Qingdao Civic Culture: Take Newspaper As The Center (1922-1937)

With the imperialism invasion and opening up of the trading ports, modern China cities especially the coastal cities began the course of modernization. As a typical coastal city, after being ended the experience of misery course of colonial rule, unifying the region characteristics, Qingdao formed her own cultural characteristics which was Influenced and transformed by "colonial culture"and"immigration culture".Studying from 1922 to 1937, using the theory of civic culture and mass media dissemination theory, the article remoulds the appearance of Qingdao civic culture in 20,30's, furthermore,it analyses the characteristics of Qingdao civic culture and the causes of that. Finally, according to making the comparison with "Peking—style culture"and "Hai—style culture", the author summarizes the whole characteristics of Qingdao civic culture and attempts to analyse the relation that was reflected in the newspaper between the country and the society.The author thinks that in advertisement,news and supplement show the characteristics of opening, materialization, multiplication and vulgarization, they also manifest the civic public consciousness and the consciousness of participating in politics. The author analyses the causes of the culture of characteristics, according to ecnomic, political , cultural facor , outer environment and growing experience. What's more, on the basic of summarizing the characteristics of Qingdao civic culture, Qingdao civic culture is compared with that in other coastal and the interior city. Compared with "Peking—style culture"and "Hai—style culture", Qingdao civic culture show her family—treasure appearance, but compared with the inert factors of Nanjing civic culture, she choosed something new positively and attempted boldly.
