Since modern times,China has experienced unprecedented changes in the past 3,000 years.And the economic system begun to transform.The introduction of the Exchanges system is one of changes.Japan calls exchanges as fetching houses,while Europe and the America calls them exchanges.Japan set up exchanges in china in 1906.After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War,it existed for 39 years in China.Qingdao Exchange,also known as Qingdao commercial Information Center.Since Japan occupied Qingdao in 1914,Japanese businessmen had planned to establish an exchange in Qingdao in 1919.So,it was established in August and start business officially in September in 1920.When China recovered sovereignty of Qingdao on February 21,1921,the Japanese Civil Affairs Department changed it a commercial office,which led to the diplomatic negotiations between the China and Japan.In view of the fact that Japanese merchants-controlled Qingdao Exchange,Chinese merchants proposed to set up the Qingdao Commodity Stock Exchange,which triggered a dispute between Qingdao Exchange and China Commodity Stock Exchange.Japan take a high value of Qingdao exchange because of its great importance of financial institution.The article takes Qingdao Exchange as a case,and further investigates and analyzes it from the perspective of its establishment,organization structure and commercial activities,the diplomatic dispute between China and Japan in 1922 and the compete with the China Commodity Stock Exchange.Based on above,we want to further explore how Qingdao exchange better realized its localization,the business activities and local society of Qingdao in the "post-colonial" era,which helps us to understand the commercial cooperation,competition and politics friction between China and Japan.
