The system of crown prince was formed in Han Dynasties, which was considered as the standard by the following dynasties. The system of crown prince was an indispensable part to the study of crown prince. This paper has discussed this system from three parts: the establishment of crown prince, the etiquette of crown prince and the education of crown prince. These three parts and the system of crown prince's attaching officers formed a complete crown prince system for Han Dynasties.The first part has explained the establishment of crown prince in Han Dynasties. The inheriting system of lineal eldest son was orthodox in Han Dynasties. This system absorbed the traditional lineal eldest son's inhibition system of formal dynasties; on the other hand, it formed new contents which were adapted to Han Dynasties'specific needs. The establishment system based on the theories in Gong Yang Zhuan which pointed"the establishment of crown prince should follow the principles: elder is more important than virtuous; noble is more important than elder."That is to say, the establishment of the crown prince meant"lineal is more important than baseborn; noble is more important than elder; elder is more important than younger."The second part has introduced the etiquette of crown prince. In imperial power society, etiquette system represented strict grading distinction. And it was also the request of steady reign. Therefore, different social classes had their specific criterion. The crown prince, who was the future emperor, wasn't the exception.
