According to the Banich's theory hypothesis, using Chinese characters and pictures as experimental materials,this study adopted within visual field(inner hemisphere) and cross visual field (inter hemisphere) techniques to probe into the interhemispheric lateralization and integrated effect of within-domain stimuli(picture-picture, word-word)and cross-domain stimuli (word-picture) in the categorical identical task and physical identical task. The results showed:(1)Both of RT and error rate for word-word domain were higher than word-picture domain's and picture-picture domain's;(2)Both of RT and error rate under the type of the categorical identical task were higher than under the type of the physical identical task's. (3) Under the type of the physical identical task, It showed that within visual field(inner hemisphere) was not advantageous as compared to cross visual field (inter hemisphere); Under the type of the categorical identical task, for both of within-domain(word-word and picture-picture) and cross-domain(word-picture), the RT and error rate of within visual field(inner hemisphere) were higher than the cross visual field (inter hemisphere)'s;(4)Under the unilateral conditions, subjects responded as fast in right visual field as in left visual field; under the bilateral conditions, subjects'performance in left-right visual field was better than in right-left visual field;(5)There was a longer RT for animals stimulate type than objects stimulate type.The above results prompted: (1)There was a difficulty gradient for stimulus domain itself, word-word domain was the most difficult, while picture-picture domain was the easies,it showed pictures and words used different complexity routs to access the semantic network;(2)Under the type of the physical identical task,across-hemispheric processing performence was not advantageous as compared to whin-hemispheric processing performance, the simple physical identical task did not appear integrated effect;(3)Under the type of the categorical identical task,there appeared gain effect of cerebral hemisphere for both within-domain (picture-picture and word-word) and cross-domain (word-picture),what's more, within-domain gain degree was more notable than cross-domain. On the one hand,it explained complicated task appeared interhemisphere gain effect that verified the Banich theoretical assumptions; On the other hand,it showed that there was a certain similarity between Chinese words and pictures From Perception to category processing;(4)The semantic category judgment task appeared word-picture's visual (hemispheric) processing order effect,which may be related with hemispheric advantage effect;(5) Objects stimulate type was more difficult than animals stimulate type. Animals belong to the relative clear natural categories while object belongs to the categories very randomly.
