A Study Of Verb-Object Extraordinary Collocation Under The Point Of View In Clause

This thesis takes the verb-object structure "zou/pao+N" for example to do research on the phenomenon of "Verb-Object extraordinary collocation", based on the "Theory of Clausal Government" which is the nucleus of the "Theory of Clausal Pivot". We uses the approach of "the double triangle"and statistics ,taking emphasis on the wide analysis of language facts in Chinese and the objective datum to integrate the form and meaning,static and dynamic study,description and explanation.The issues below are studied in the dissertation.Chapter 1: It gives a definition to the term of "Verb-Object extraordinary collocation" and analyzes the combination characteristics. Then it point out that "Verb-Object extraordinary collocation" belongs to the category of restricted collocation and idioms.Chapter 2: The phenomenon of "Verb-Object extraordinary collocation" governed by syntax is focused on. It includes three parts. First, discuss the theoretical basis of using "syntax government" to study the phenomenon of "Verb-Object extraordinary collocation". Second, discuss the government of clause on the structure of "Verb-Object extraordinary collocation". Third, discuss the government of clause on the semantic meaning of "Verb-Object extraordinary collocation".Chapter 3: It analyzes the phenomenon of "Verb-Object extraordinary collocation" governed by register involving two parts. First, discuss the characteristics of "Verb-Object extraordinary collocation" under the government of register and the different impacts of different field,tenor,mode, then point out that field has most importance on it.
