Research On Taoist Personality Structure And Measurement

This research expounds the notion of Taoist personality, discusses its structure, creates and writes a Taoist personality scale, and studies the relationship between Taoist and psychological well-being.On the study of discussing Taoist personality structure, biography of five typical Taoist is compiled. Meanwhile, personality adjective scale compiled by Wang dengfeng and others is modified. At last, a scale of 122 adjectives is formed. After reading these biographies, the tested people fill in adjective scale according to comprehension to biography people. Then this adjective scale is studied by using exploratory factor analysis method, and six dimensions are obtained, 25 items are reserved. The result show that meaning of every dimension is explicit. So, these dimension can be named as wisdom, charity, mature, sturdily, straightforwards and glamorous.Based on the dimension, every item of Taoist personality scale which includes several sentences can be compiled according to meaning of every dimension. Additionally, to make meaning of every sentence is as explicit as possible and every dimension is integrated. Then pre-testing scale is formed.Using exploratory factor analysis method analyses obtained pre-testing scale. The result is six dimensions, which proves the conclusion by word study. But there are three items having double load, load capacity of one item is less then 0.4. Though analyzing study, two items of pre-testing scale are modified and two items are deleted. Finally, the formal Taoist personality scale is formed and is carried out. The data from formal scale is studied by confirmatory factor analysis. The model fit index as a result show that six factors model of Taoist personality has better construct validity.Correlative research between Taoist personality and psychological well-being show that well-being index correlated positively to wisdom, charity, sturdily, straightforwards and glamorous in Taoist personality except mature. The result of multiple regression analysis which used six dimensions of Taoist personality as independent variable and well-being index as dependent variable show that two dimensions of straightforwards and sturdily influent directly and predict well...
