The Seventeen-Year-Literature was not studied actively at the end of 20th century, but it reappears with new vitality to people's a little attention at the beginning of 21st. Classics-rereading, under the effect of Red Culture and Red Tourism, arises as one kind of literary phenomenon in our society because of the advocating of leading ideology and the promotion of media institutes. So reading and studying them seems quite fashionable. As a fact, we can only grasp the works' connotation from the text and social context in case of misreading them.Based on the Revolutionary Hero Legend novels of the Seventeen-Year-Literature, the thesis focuses on the art forms of traditional folk narration. As the researchers are accustomed to putting early Revolutionary Hero Legend novels, such as Biography of Heroes in Lvliang Mountain, Biography of New Generation into Liberation Area Literature of 1940s. Consequently, the thesis mainly chooses four Revolutionary Hero Legend novels—Immense Forest Snowfield, Railroad Guerrilla Detachment, Raging Fire Buddha's Warrior, Wild Fire and Spring Breeze Fighting against the Ancient City, to be the analyzing object, meanwhile, referring to Raging Fire in the Plain, Armed Team of Enemy's Rear Area as well.The thesis consists of four parts. The first part reviews the development of folk narration in the history of Left-Wing Literature. The second part takes up the adoption to folk narration in the Revolutionary Hero Legend novels, through analyzing novel characters, plot, narrative style, writing model and language style. On the basis of leading ideology, writers and readers, the third is about the cause of folk narration prevailing in the Revolutionary Hero Legend novels. The fourth formulates the relationship between leading ideology and folk narration in the Revolutionary Hero Legend novels, namely, the paradox between leading ideology and folk narration, and the regulations of the former to the latter. The thesis draws a conclusion that leading ideology fulfills its aim by using folk narration in the Revolutionary Hero Legend novels, and makes the novels get unprecedented development at that time. Furthermore, leading ideology and folk narration create cooperatively the Seventeen-Year Revolutionary Hero Legend novels.
