Influence Of Artistic Trends On Interior Design

From the historical points of view, the formation of any design style school of the modern interior design is influenced by the then political, economic, cultural and social psychology, and is a container with the polymerized and mixed humane thoughts and ideas dominated by the tool and technical rationality. In this issue, on the one hand various styles and modes of the interior design interact and integrate with each other; on the other hand they are influenced by various artistic trends, thereby showing a variety of features. In this paper, taking 'influence of artistic trends on interior design' as the title, we try to not only reveal the basic developing tracks of interior design under the influence of artistic trends at omnibearing, multi-level and multi-angle, by collecting, compiling, analyzing and expositirig the relevant information, but also to summarize the main artistic schools of modern interior design by clarifying the interactions between the interior design and the modern arts, taking the response of each artistic school to the interior design as the focus of study on the basis of the relevant treatises; the objective of this study is to achieve the better guidance to the interior design.In the developing process of interior design, the biggest reformation is that the development of construction technologies brings the changes in the construction spatial shape. In the chapter II of this paper, the historic study on the three periods of the construction space, i.e., from classicism and modernism to post-modernism, indicates that the leaping development of the construction technologies provides a wide variety of possibilities for the construction spatial morphosis, and that the modern art has become the source of reference for the construction spatial morphosis.In the chapter III, based on two parallel clues, i. e., the history of art and the developing history of interior design, we investigate the interactions between art and design, as well as their learning from each other, in their development process during the period from modernism to post-modernism; in addition, we quote a wealth of figures for analysis. In the chapter IV, we summarize the five design techniques of modern inferior design. In the chapter V, integrating with the current status of interior design in China, we discuss the exploring and pursuing direction of China' s interior design under the influence of the Western art and design trends.In the final part of this paper, the authors propose that in the current knowledge economy era of the 21st century with the information technologies as the core, the designers' concerning with the avant-garde art phenomenon and their absorption of the vanguard art' concepts will help them to predict the trends in the development of interior design, so as to find a unique artistic language to promote the coming of the original era of China' s interior design.
