There is in folk music melody a phenomenon of "Five-Tone Multi-Gong Synthesis", in which the diao seems turning but really not so. The characteristics of this phenomenon are to make comprehensive use of Five-Tone of different Gong, in order to make pianyin to have a zhengsheng sense of other Gongs. The melody, while maintaining the basis of the national music style of our country, fully embodies the rich expression power of Five-Tone diao system. The former part of the paper treats chiefly construction basis of the phenomenon, use patterns and main features. As the times go on, the phenomenon was further exhibited, developed and applied. That is, several Gong systems are blended in a same tune making it approaching to multi-Gong integration. The incidental music of TV serial A Dream of Red Mansions and the opera Daughter of the Party are two works with higher art value producing wide social influences. In both works the phenomenon of Five-Tone Multi-Gong Synthesis has been strongly embodied. The latter part of the paper, however, will make a analysis and research through the phenomenon of Five-Tone Multi-Gong Synthesis, in order to explore the nationality and diversity and to display the application value of the phenomenon in the modern musical life.
