The author researches on the issues of the national fine arts exhibition since 1990s.From that time, huge transformation and progress have taken place, and have animportant effect on the harmonious development of the whole national fine arts.The article has analyzed the state of the national fine arts exhibition since 1990s fromthree sections——the exhibition of independent curator, the biennial exhibition and thenational fine arts exhibition. The emergence of the exhibition of independent curator is asignificant phenomenon in China modem fine arts exhibition, and its emergencebackground, cause, process, contribution, opportunity, predicament and so on havebecome the most projecting problems of the national fine arts exhibition. Moreover, it isalso the first step of the transformation and progress of the national fine arts exhibitionstyle. Following the successful practice of the exhibition of independent curator, theofficial fine arts exhibition has intentionally absorbed the experience of it, and formedthe Chinese character collective display plan style which has been applied in the practiceof the biennial exhibition. At the same time, the traditional national fine arts exhibitionhas also changed.In addition, the author has also summarized and analyzed the characteristics and theproblems of the independent display plan, the biennial exhibition and the national finearts exhibition.
