The Lius of Zhu Cheng was one of the famous imperial examination families of Shandong area during the period of the Qing Dynasty. Two hundreds years from Shun Zhi to Dao Guang, the Lius did well in imperial examinations for about 7 generations. The clansman not only obtained scholarly titles, but also took eminent official positions. Among them, there were 8 people had been mentioned in the official history. The Lius was one of the distinguished families at the beginning of the Qing Dynasty. Moreover, the Lius was renowned for its remarkable literature achievement through the country yet. Among centuries, the Lius attached great importance to study and had good cultural traditions. Among them, more than 10 people reached great achievement at literature for 7 generations, and 4 people's works were embodied in "Si Ku Quan Shu". The Lius of literature was very famous in the literary world, and had produced great influence on the literature of the Qing Dynasty. So, the scholars called that "the old and well-known family of the North Sea". Influenced by family's social standing, the Lius'descendants except marked in imperial examinations, literature, also had more achievements in other fields.The thesis is on the basis of collecting the materials extensively, inherit forefathers' research results, has carried on comparatively systematic research to the Lius in terms of family's history for the first time. According to the study on the Lius, I want to tell the inherent development mechanism, survive state, value orientation and the interaction between the family and the environment of the distinguished official families during the period of the Qing, looking for the joint between local history and culture history, and an observation visual angle of social history.
