Zhao Shuli is a famous writer in the contemporary literature age. He is also a well-known press editor in our country.Zhao Shuli has edited four newspapers and two magazines altogether. It is the"Mountainous region"which is the supplement of"the Yellow River Daily", the"Everybody Does"which is the supplement of"People","the Sino-Japanese War Lives","Chinese"weekly,"New Populace"and the first nationwide popular literary publication"Traditional entertainment involving talking and singing".These publications which was all popularization and popular style received people's affection. In order to propagandize Chinese Communist's policies and achievements, eulogize the Eighth Route Army and the militiaman's glory , ZhaoShuli made the remarkable contribution.Zhao Shuli's editing thought approximately may summarize three principal aspects: First, drew close to the populace, drew close to the life, served for politics. Second, encouraged the populace to create, controled the quality . Zhao Shuli positively encouraged the populace to do the creation. Then the populace also can create the good work. In choosing the manuscript, Zhao Shuli persisted that the content was primarily, form was auxiliary. Third, Zhao Shuli cultured a lot of young authors by way of creating and editing publications, for example, Miao Peishi, Chen Dengke, Liu Zhen, Deng Youmei, Han Wenzhou and so on.Zhao Shuli advocated the popularization and had made the remarkable result. He thought that the popular should be based on"popularization". He had pointed out the relations between"the popularization"and"the enhancement". The press activities and the edition thoughts of Zhao Shuli inspire us that we must fully think of the reader. First let them accept popularize, then enhance them. But we should not advocate vulgar. We must resist the vulgar wind firmly.
