Leader Of Popular Literature&art

This thesis tries to find out the difference of the transformation of popularization under Zhao Shuli's and Lao She's guidance at the early stage of our country by probing into the whole 63 issues. It consists of three chapters according to the development of the magazine. However, there is not obvious boundary of speaking and singing in terms of time. For the convenience of discussion, the present paper would divide its development into two parts with the"adjustment of Peking's literary periodicals"as the boundary. One part refers to the period when Zhao Shuli is the chief editor of that magazine; and the other Lao She as the editor in chief.In Chapter one, the speaking and singing is the major journal published by Peking Popular Literature & Art Creation and Research Association, with the purpose to promote the development of popularization. The"popularization"can be traced back to"Popularization Association", founded by WangChun and Zhao Shuli etc. at Taihang mountains revolutionary base in the Anti-Japanese War period. Because the Popular Literature&Art Creation and Research Association and Popularization Association are closely related, it is necessary to figure out their relationship before the investigation of the speaking and singing.At the same time, this part also compares the Zhao Shuli's ambition of popularization with Lao She's popularization practice after"the adjustment of popular publication", to disclose how Zhao's spiritual guidance of"writing for the mass"is replaced by official guidance. This would be specifically discussed in Chapter two. By an exploration of the changing of"contribution"and some"self-criticism", it can be observed that it is a very rough process to transform the magazine's key members from the"TONGREN"organization into cultural system.In the development of the speaking and singing, after"the adjustment of popular publication", the magazine has"a new beginning". It not only means the magazine is promoted as a national publication by superior department, but also symbolizes a new trend has come up in the literary& art creation about popularization. It is doubtless that this new tendency is accord with the political situation in 1951 - 1952.
