The Practice Of "popular Literature And Art" In The Early Days Of The Republic

The Communist Party of China who had taken hold of the state power and became the ruling party tried to build a new socialist society after the foundation of new China.Guided by Talks at the Yen-an Forum on Art and Literature,the Communist Party of China made much account of the publicity and education function of literature and art,and began to conduct the socialist transformation of literature and art.As one of the representative journals during the early years of New China,the publication of Speaking and Singing was an essential part of practice on popularization of literature and art.Based on rereading the popular magazine Speaking and Singing,this thesis attempts to review the literary and history in the early 1950 s,and finds out more about changes of policy on literature and art and the impact produced by them.In addition,to explore the developing process of folk literature and the confrontation between mainstream literature and folk literature in the process of constructing literature system is also of the greatest concern of the paper.
