Contrast:"Red Magazine" and the inheriting "Red Rose" is one kind of publication which existed longer andaffected bigger during the reform time of Yuan Hu Literature after the declined "Saturday" journal.Taking the Yuan Hu Literature's development course as the time axis, "Red Magazine" was therepresentative republication at the reforming stage. It undertook the mission of earning resident readers andcontinuing the literature for the readers. In the competition of "Novel Monthly" reformed by Mao Dun and thesimilar publication "Violet", "Red Magazine" and "Red Rose" continued from 1922 to 1932 and maintained thesurprising vitality; however it was looked down upon by researchers. Taking the literature field as the axis,regarding of the literature field gradually inclined to the serious literature in the competition, "Red Magazine"arose at the historic moment in the function of the pressure from the serious literature, the market commercialprofit and the cultural demand from readers. "Red Magazine" adjusted its literary style to adapt the timedemand, and its essay had the prose moral character which was close to the resident life to speak on behalf forthe residents. Meanwhile, this magazine described the life of the residents and every aspect they focused on inequal, kind and humorous words to present a wonderful marketplace world for us. "RedMagazine" had constructed a bustling red common custom culture world, and provided us the-cultural angle ofview to understand the resident's life style and the literature condition in the 1920's and 1930's.
