The mental health of university students not only influence their personal growth, but also have an important affect on the development of the society. The universities and colleges are considered as the base of training for high professional persons, so they have to take notice of the state of students'mental health, guide the students eliminate the mental disorder, and develop the healthy psychological diathesis. Due to the short history of the universities and colleges, the education of the mental health is still at the stage of exploration, and there are few researches of how to deal with the mental disorder and the education of the mental health. Therefore this article aims at researching the state of mental health of university students, from the point of view of physiology, psychology, society, and school, family and so on, which has explored, investigated and analyzed the reasons, and then put forward some suggestions of improving the level of the students'mental health. The random sample of 500 college students at the College of Economy and Management for Cadre of jilin province adopt Symptom Self-evaluation Measure Form (SCL-90),and investigate the present state of mental health of university students.The findings indicate:1,the level of the mental health of university students is lower than the norm of all the university students in the country2,the level of the schoolgirls'mental health is lower than the schoolboys'3,the level of freshmen'mental health is higher than the sophomores'and the juniors', and the junior students have lot's of problems of mental health4,the students who come from the big cities and countryside have more mental health problems than the students from the medium or small towns...
