Attachment is a kind of deep, firm and continued feeling connection between individual and important others. As the first internalized cognitive working model in individual development , attachment pattern is not only in the whole life of individual development, but also affects children's social development.This paper discusses the nature and the characteristics of attachment relation in the transition period of adolescent development and the adolescent attachment impact on self-concept and academic achievement. The subject is 356 students in grade 1 and grade 2 of junior middle school and senior middle school. Inquire of parental and companion attachment (IPPA) , Harter's self-concept scale and students'latest examination result (Chinese and months) are used. The data is managed by SPSS 11.5. The main content is as follows:1. Most adolescent have well attachment. On the whole, the attachment with mother is better than that with father and companion, parental attachment has significant positive correlation with companion attachment.2. There is no differences between father attachment and companion attachment in gender, and on mother attachment sub-scale, girls have significantly higher score than boys. Seeing from the tendency, parental attachment varies from decline to ascending, until approaching to steady; however, companion is always declining. On parental attachment, the score of junior middle school students in grade 2 is the lowest, and that of senior middle school in grade 1 is the highest; at the same time, the score of companion attachment achieves the top in junior middle school students of grade 1,and achieves the bottom in junior middle school students of grade 2.3. The extent of self-concept which can be predicted by parental and companion attachment is different. Father attachment can predict academic self-concept and general self-concept at the greatest extent, and companion follows it. However, mother attachment can't predict it significantly.4. Parental and companion attachment affects adolescent academic achievement via academic self-concept.
