Based on the social background that Buddhism was coming to Central Plains from East-Han Dynasty to Five-dynasties, and created tremendous influence on literature, arts and religious belief, the thesis discusses the subject from the way of Buddhism's transfer, the Buddhist rites and its philosophy. The thesis explored preliminarily the effect of Buddhism on'yue-fu'composition, through the comparison of many kinds of'yue-fu'works, historical material, and related with the development of Buddhism in that Age. So the article tries to reveal the important part Buddhism played in history of'yue-fu'literature. In the writing process, author compared carefully the reference material, and analyses the concept used in past and continued to be used now.The main content is constituted of three parts. Before the content is the introduction on the categories of the main objects and the comparative study on this subject'. There is the conclusion after the content.'The categories of the main object'analyses and limited the terms of'Buddhism'and'yue-fu'.'Buddhism'includes its doctrine and ceremony, for example, Sanskrit-singing and giving-alms meeting etc. The word'yue-fu'means not only the poem but also the yue-fu activities, except Ci and Qu which was called'yue-fu'from Song Dynasty. The present study is base of this article.Chapter one: Buddhist music propagated into Central Plains, its musical instruments, dances affected on those of Central Plains. The Buddhist music resource is abundant. On one hand, Buddhist tells that music is the means to bring people to Buddha's world. On the other hand, it points that music was the reason of people's relaxation. So its music should be elegant and abstruse, and could lure people to Buddhism. As the result of this opinion, expounding the texts of Buddhism transformed to Sanskrit-singing. Buddhist music came to Center Plains as war trophies or tribute through the west countries of China.Buddhist music instruments were different from transitional music instruments in Central Plains. So they brought different characteristic of Yue-fu songs. The dances in giving-alms meeting and the music from the west countries turned Tang Dynasty to be an Age when foreign music is prevailing. What's more, Buddhist songs were added to the institution of Yue Fu, and transformed to'Fa Qu'later.Chapter two: The Buddhist effect on'yue-fu'style.Some poems named by'Lè'or'Luó'can be saw as a style because of its characteristic and content. With the inspiration of Buddhist consecrated music,'Lè'or'Luó'style poetry went to its prosperity. From the deceptive point of creation of'Ce'tone, according to the descriptions of Buddhist ode, the reference of Dunhuang and the relationship between the people who divided the tone into three of Qingshang and Buddhists, the article infers that the three tones of Qingshang should be related with Buddhist Sanskrit-singing. And, the poets in Nanqi Dynasty created Yongming style with the inspiration of Buddhist translation, which make the relationship between poems and songs more and more obvious and lead to the formation of Modern-style poetry.Chapter Three: the effect on Yue-fu poetsMonks also are laymen. Their yue-fu poems showed some Buddhist experience and emotion, and they paid attention to secular living. Some poets cited Buddhism language into their poem, or named their poems as Buddhist. So, we can say, Buddhism affected the writing of yue-fu.Conclusion: Buddhism took part in the writing of yue-fu poems. The culture of Central Plains introduced Buddhism and introspected itself, so as to reach the mixture between these two cultures.
