Multi-disciplinary cooperation has received great emphasis and become a strategic keypoint of education development in angle of not only science study but also talent development. As for the industrial design education in our country, multi-disciplinary study is no doubt a good way to train outstanding design talents, and is also a chance to make further development in design.The development of design education should be paid attention to the talents training of cross-integration in various subjects. This article discusses how to flexibly combine design and other subjects together to promote the method of mixing art and science for a multi-disciplinary combining way of design education. This article, through the study on the situation of industrial design and design education home and abroad, discusses the trend of design education and points out that multi-disciplinary should be placed enough attention in training.This article suggests two ways for multi-disciplinary design education, which are comprehensive talents training and communication and cooperation among departments.This article discusses the training methods of integrated design talents firstly. To improve the whole level of industrial design in China, it should improve the quality of industrial designers comprehensively by industrial design education, especially by the training of integrated design talents. Through the questionnaire survey from industrial designers and design managers in enterprises, the author realizes the companies and enterprises'demand of design talents currently and compares it with the teaching system of present design colleges, as a result, finds the shortages of current design education system. Then aimed at these problems, the author discusses the training methods of integrated design talents from two main aspects, talents training mode and teaching investment.Secondly, it expounds the necessity of design education by multi-disciplinary crossing and amalgamation, the exploration in relevant subjects of design education and the theories research of cross-subjects education to hammer out the ways for multi-disciplinary cooperation in colleges and departments. The modes of multi-disciplinary cooperation in design education are the integrations of human, software and hardware, methods, success and so on, which can be applied but not limited to following four ways: the internal amalgamation of design specialty—tutorial system or workroom system; multi-disciplinary amalgamation of fixed form—workshop of credit system; multi-specialties and multi-disciplinary amalgamation of fixed targets—the project-centered cooperation and the more extensive amalgamation—opening cooperation mode.Finally, this article has a research and anatomy for the measuring mode of multi-disciplinary cooperation through examples.
