Prepositions can connect two entities to denote the spacial relations between them, then the relations can further produce non-spacial meanings through metaphors. Based on this theory, this paper considers the semantic features of verbs as well as the semantic roles of subjects and objects of the prepositions to look for the differences of spacial relations the four prepositions"xiang","chao","dui"and"chong"express."xiang","chao","dui"and"chong"can all be translated into"to", however, the differences among their usages have not been well analyzed, so the second language learners often make many mistakes when using them. This paper researches the interlanguage errors of the four prepositions and discovers the reasons why the learners commit many errors are the students do not understand the functions of the prepositions in events. Based on the analysis of regular features of the errors, The paper classifies the errors and compares them with modern Chinese, then explores the similarities and differences when the prepositions denote motion events and tries to explain why the errors are made. We research the errors from the following aspects:1. Is it a starting or a terminal point marked by the semantic role?2. Is it an internal or an external force motion that the preposition denotes?3. Is it a factive or a fictive motion that the preposition denotes ?4. Is it a process or an objective windowing?Theoretically, this research identifies the inner motivation why there are differences among the usages of"xiang","chao","dui"and"chong". Practically, it makes up the shortages of the Chinese textbooks and offers some teaching strategies for Chinese class.
