Kazuo Ishiguro, Japanese-born novelist, is one of the most famous contemporary British novelists and the winner of Booker Prize which is the most prestigious prize in England. And he also with Salman Rushdie and Naipaul as the Best British Immigrant writers. His elegant style,the search for the memories ,the theme of the international writing, were rated he is"a poet who is good at explain the theme of lost."This paper explores Ishiguro's artistic pursuit and fiction text to reveal the features of his world of memory .The whole thesis is composed of three parts. Introduction aims to give a brief survey of Ishiguro's personal experience and his creative composition ,and sorted out their research status in the academic critic of domestic and abroad .In the development of the immigration literature, his novel reflects its internal features and points out the significance of research.ChapterⅠ, "the memory mechanism and the memories of Poetics" mainly from the word meaning of the "memory" . Research on the psychological significance of the unique mechanism of memory and analysis of memory and recollection that they belong to the different psychological and social function ,the paper points out that memories are unique. Secondly, back the Original of the Memories Poetics , philosophers, such as Plato, Aristotle,Heidegger, their philosophical connotations were given memories more explanation.Then, immigrant writers are used to write the theme of memory and forgotten memories to explore their cultural identity and the lost national memory which makes them back to find who they were. Finally, through the analysis of the concepts and practice of Ishiguro's writing, it points out the aesthetic influence under Proust's In Search of Past Time and formed to the self-understanding of the aesthetic features of the memories with his own immigrant experience.ChapterII,"the memory map of the Ishiguro's fiction"focuses mainly on the characteristics of memory----"lost and Pursuit." From personal memories start to the national memory and history memory, a map of lost memory began to form.Loss, as the time goes by , particularly to the author and the hero of his work ,it is means the the search for the past life memories and discover the loss of life for the sake of building a better imagination world.Loss, as the individual concerned, which means loss of personal identity that they have forgotten their social and cultural role to find who they were. They have been the "orphans" which living in double culture with self-alienation and alienation from society .At last, in his novels'historical background, the loss also means the loss of the history——the glory of empire, while displaying personal narrative with the rise and fall of Britain empires.It can be said that he is construct a framework of the empire's glory history on the top of the fragment of personal memories.ChapterIII, " the narrative art in Ishiguro's novels," primarily through the analysis of the memories to explain how can Ishiguro achieve the objective in the pursuit of memories. First, "Who" in the search?——Analysis of the narrator through its first-person narrative point, the unreliable narrator and the narrative voice to reveal the role of loser . Second is the"how to search"? ----through the analysis of the omitted narrative to retrospect the hero's life and service for the theme of memories. Then it will display hero's spiritual journey with the beginning of the memories and ending in the memory narrative.Conclusion summarizes the memory mechanism in Ishiguro's fiction. Memory is a psychological mechanism, as well as a narrative form and a poetic concept.In his novels, with the loss of the memories and search for the forgotten memories ,the stories conferred aesthetic features of memory: memory means nostaligia which is the pursuit of the childhood Utopia ; memory means consolation which is a comfort to traumatizes again; and memory also means back to the national memory and historical recollection to find who they were.It can be said, among the most representational immigrant writers, Ishiguro descript a profound and mysterious memory world which through the description of the memory mechanism and digging the aesthetic connotation of the memory poetics.
