Facial expression is through eye muscles and facial muscles andmouth muscles to change various emotional states. Facial expression isthe most sensitive emotional generator and the major media passingemotion in interpersonal. Facial expression provides a quick and effectivesystem of symbols for interpersonal communication .As a result Facialexpression recognition plays an important role in social interaction.In this study, the eye movement course of subjects of age6-7, ageS-9,age10-11 are monitored by an eye movement recorder during theyrecognize happiness, surprise, sadness and anger.The experimental results are demonstrated as follow:1. There is no significant difference in the ability of recognizinghappiness, sadness and anger. However, On surprised expression, thedifference is significant between 6-7 age children and other age children.This shows that the ability of children's recognizing happy, sad and angryhave got to maturity during 6-7 age. But the ability of children'srecognizing surprise only become mature during 8-9 age.2. There are obvious difference when only 6-7 age childrenrecognize the facial expression. This explains that with the increase ofage, the ability of children's recognizing facial expressions is graduallybecoming mature. Specially, the ability of recognizing surprise developlate.3. Eye and eyebrows is the most important interest area whenchildren recognize expressions. And mouth is more important interestarea than nose and the left part.
