| The thesis analyses the synchronic and diachronic features ofChangsha placenames in linguistic perspective,as well as the relationshipbetween Changsha placenames and regional culture.The thesis firstintroduces a geographical and historical survey on Changsha,and presentscurrent works in the area of Changsha placenames,then the lexicalfeatures of Changsha placenames are described in detail,finally by meansof statistics it concludes on a trend to elegand and science in thedevelopment of placenames,and Changsha regional culture reflected byplacenames of Changsha.
