Han Wudi is an emperor who has had full scope for his talents. Duringhis domination, Han Wudi had taken many great measures in terms ofpolitics, economy, military and culture. Owing to these, the times of Han Wudibecame a period of shining through the ages, which surpassed and surprisedChina as well as foreign countries. Han Wudi's life was mainly full ofauthoritarian domination and numerous superstitious activities. On one hand,Han Wudi had many superstitious fantastic activities because he made fetishesof gods and spirits. On the other hand, he was courageous and wise, openedup territory, and strengthened centralization of state power, which made thedomination of Han Dynasty reach the summit. Han Wudi was made a fool ofthe superstitious immortal idea, but he was a man of great talent and boldvision. The phenomenon of this contradictory unity happened to Han Wudi. Inthe thesis, the author studies the phenomenon. That Han Wudi believed in thesuperstitious immortal idea did great harm to his great talents, merits and achievements to some degree, and had a strong negative impact on his politics.The author delves into the reasons and the characteristics that Han Wudibelieved in the superstitious immortality, makes a contrast between him andQin Shihuang, and reveals the function that the superstitious immortal idea hadon the Dynasty of Han Wudi. Thus we may understand and evaluate Han Wudiand the period in his domination comprehensively.
