Private native banks in Guangzhou had not declined In the early period ofthe Republic of China New while modern banks had been starting, moreoverhad developed and flourished in its peak in early 1930's. Guangzhou's nativebanks, Chinese modern banks and foreign Banks had consisted of threepowers of Guangzhou's finance. Guangzhou's native banks had been muchcloser with industry and trading in Guangzhou than Chinese modern banksbecause the amount of financing .Guangzhou's native banks had played avery important role. The faulty acknowledgement towards speculation of nativebanks and the need for financial controlling resulted that the authorities ofGuangdong had taken too harsh suppression and enforcement measures.Ithad accelerated the decline of native banks and had been indeed negative toeconomic development when Chinese modern banks had been not yet welldeveloped.
