| This thesis mainly does research on local "Hong Lou" dramas developing from Manchu Dynasty till now. The research on "Hong Lou" dramas has already made some achievement. However, the viewpoints concerning to them are too scattered to form a systemic research structure that they have to be thoroughly studied and discussed, In this thesis, according to the research that has been made to "Hong Lou" dramas and the theory of drama, the author tries to dissertate how the novel "Dreams of Red Mansions" has been rearranged into dramas from Manchu dynasty till now. It discusses in details the changes of the theme and characters during the development of "Hong Lou" dramas, and also, analyze the cause of the changes. The thesis is a comprehensive and thorough study on the operas, containing both the external rearrangement and the acceptation to inner contents.
